We obviously love the products/brands we carry, but nothing trumps the feeling we get when other people love them just as much as us. Anderson’s Belts, Blue Industry and Walk-Over shoes are all recent additions to our stores. We introduced these brands because they align so well with our Gotstyle guys needs. Each one offers high-quality craftsmanship with a modern twist. So when Canada’s leading men’s magazine Sharp Book For Men decided to feature all three brands in their latest issue, we were ecstatic!

Featured in their Style Manual for Spring/Summer 2013, you can catch our belts from Anderson’s, our brushed cotton polkadot shirt by Blue Industry and last but not least, some great words of wisdom from Walk-Over General Manager James Rowley.

Shop the brands:
Blue Industry, Walk Over, Ted Baker, Happy Socks

Makeover
Adam is transitioning his career from public to private law and was looking to elevate his wardrobe to impress his clients. He decided on a grey 3 piece suit by Not your Fathers Suit with a peak lapel (suit $795, vest $195). To add some depth we styled the suit with a SAND shirt ($225) in navy and black check paired with an orange and navy polka dot Van Gils Tie ($85).

Anderson’s was founded in the mid 1960’s by Mr. Carlo Valenti who got all his training in the world o belt making for a very famous leather factory in Parma. After gaining enough knowledge, he decided to go into business for himself and opened up Anderson’s. Wondering where he came up with that name?! Well, being an Anglophile, Mr. Valenti was very fond of hats and wore suits by English tailor ‘Anderson and Sheppard’… that’s how the name ‘Anderson’s’ came to life.

Anderson’s is now one of the leading accessories companies in Italy and maybe the oldest men’s belt manufactorer in Europe. With the wolrd as their oyster they have truly made the name Anderson’s synonymous with the highest quality of design and manufacturing, combining modern techniques with the experience and tradition of the “Parma leather artisans”.

Today, this family run business is helmed by son Riccardo and daughter Elisabetta and continues to strive to produce the highest quality belts you will ever own.

Anderson’s is a real family business, proud to still be owned and run by the original  family and is still – after more than 45 years – based in Parma, Italy, where 100% of belts are manufactured by 50 employees. Production takes place exclusively at the laboratories in Parma (historically well known for the manufacturing of shoes and leather goods), where each individual operation is supervised by expert craftsmen. Each garment is made with knowledge and quality that has been passed on from generation to generation. The town Parma has been the birthplace of high quality Italian belts and Anderson’s pieces are one of its outstanding products. Our heritage is evident in placing values on material, sewing, processing and workmanship passed on over generations within our family. That’s why all our products are entirely handmade in Italy using premium quality leathers and fabrics for belts manufactured with highest standards and craftsmanship.

Today marks the official launch of the Gotstyle Naked Man Online Video Game! Softlaunched last December, today’s wide release comes on the heels of our Grand Opening party celebrating Gotstyle’s new store in the Distillery district, the second location in Toronto and the first to cater to both men and women.

The Naked Man video game is a throwback to the popular 8bit video games of the 1980s mixing elements of PacMan and Donkey Kong and rooted in the provocative and comedic theme of the Naked Man campaign, which was launched last fall. The risqué transmedia
campaign promotes Gotstyle’s innovative video shopping service the first of its kind shopping service in North America.

The campaign and video game concept, conceived and produced by Toronto’s integrated innovation agency Dorsey/Holme Experience, debuted with a YouTube video featuring a naked man on a balcony, video shopping via his smartphone with Melissa herself. The story, showing the man in dire need of clothes, ends with a twist, and ultimately a happy ending. Promoted to Gotstyle’s social media and enewsletter followers, the video went viral notching over 500,000 views to date.

“We had so much success with the Naked Man video that we wanted a fun and cheeky way to keep guys engaged with our brand and continue to increase awareness for our video shopping service. The online video game does just that,” says Melissa Austria.

The Naked Man online video game also features a promotional component. Gamers can earn ballots, by winning and sharing their score on Facebook, valid for a chance to WIN weekly prizing from Gotstyle and eligibility for the annual grand prize of an all expense paid night out in Tdot with the Gotstyle crew.
