We all know the invaluable contribution the sport coat has made on the men’s fashion scene. It’s versatility, sartorial sophistication, and ease of wear make it a fundamental necessity in any respectable man’s closet. Wear it to the office or to the cottage, the sport coat is undoubtably a jack of all trades.
In recent seasons we’ve seen a growing trend in this market with the arrival of the knit or jersey style blazers. These jackets are incredible because they offer the immaculate finish of a great, well-tailored sport coat, while feeling like you’re wearing your favourite sweatshirt. Like a sweatshirt, they are great for travel, last forever and are ideal for layering. However what they are not is something only for frat boys or varsity athletes. The jersey blazer, when worn appropriately, can be ideal for the 20 year old or the 50 year old and we’re here to prove it.
Check out these styled looks for inspiration on how you can work this great piece into your daily wardrobe.
Gentlemen, gentlemen.. Wool is hardly a hot weather textile- even if it is cashmere. Warm climate dressing doesn’t immediately imply casual, especially in the context of an office environment. Choosing attire for these balmy, humid days is actually a simple proposition. You don’t need to change your style- merely need to adapt it to current conditions. For suiting, choose pieces made of lighter textiles and hues. If the office allows for more flexibility, we have sharp options galore; de-constructed jackets with short-sleeved shirt and tie combinations, and many, many chinos- in a striking array of colours. Staying cool, while looking accomplished is getting easier day by (scorching) day. Drop by the store or shop online for this season’s latest styles, not to mention our renowned Summer Sale.

Soccer and style go hand-in-hand, especially with fashion-forward kick-stars like Ronaldo, Marchisio, Messi and Pique leading the charge at this year’s FIFA World Cup- here’s our regulation sartorial guidance for die-hard football fans.
Hitting the nearest patio, pub or rooftop party to cheer on your favourites- arrive in style to (hopefully) support your team right through to finals. Featuring a vast (but well-curated) selection of shorts, Gotstyle’s latest editorial illustrates a few of the infinite ways to wear this summer staple- while looking modern and keeping cool. Drop by our Bathurst and Distillery District locations or shop online for stadium, or street ready attire.
