With inspiration from Norwegian films from the 1940s and 1950s, featuring factory workers, archipelago idyll and post-war time themes, this collection really brings some of that cinematic flare to your wardrobe. We’ve got both linen and cotton options, along with great punches of colour that are sure to match whatever mood you’re in and keep looking and feeling great this Spring.  As they say, Moods of Norway is happy clothes for happy people, so put on your dancing shoes, slip into something comfortable, and dance the night away.

Spring is one of the trickets times of the year, because on any given day the weather can go from comfortable patio weather to sub-zero. So, how does one prepare for weather so unpredictable?! Aside from owning some great outerwear pieces, sweaters are a definite must-have during this season. For those colder days you can layer them with t-shirts and dress shirts and for those warmer days you can just simply wear them on their own. Nothing is quite as versatile as a great sweater in your wardrobe. Here are some great colourful examples from Stones, Zanerobe and John Varvatos.

“No longer the preserve of University lecturers, these are now a new modern style staple” – Mr. Porter

Get knotted this Spring with some great knitted ties. As we transition our looks from heavy wools to lighter cottons and linnens we also have to re-evaluate the accessories we pair with them. We recommend working in knit ties into your Spring/Summer wardrobe as they offer great versatility while maintaining a professional decorum. Whether you’re paring it with a nice chambray shirt and chinos or a summer suit for the office, a knit tie compliments virtually any look. Drop by either the Bathurst or our new renovated Distillery District store to check out our great selection of knit ties for the season. We’re certain you’ll find one that works best for you!

What do you call a brand that has been through the War, the great depression and now the European crisis? Tiger! Tiger of Sweden started out in Uddevalla, Sweden back in 1903 and now is a global entity with shops in Sweden, Canada, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany and South Africa. Take into account their web store and a total of 1,200 re-sellers spanning 18 countries in 3 continents and you might have a sense for why this brand is a pillar in the fashion scene.

The root of what makes Tiger of Sweden different from other brands lies in their mission statement, “A Different Cut”. No matter how many different owners and designers have passed through this fashion house they have all practiced what they call “A Different Cut” – an expression that goes beyond what you can accomplish with fabrics, scissors, thread, and stitches. “A Different Cut” is a state of mind, one that encourages innovation and creativity. It is this mission statement that allowed the brand to persevere through some very troubled times and continues to make it the success it is today.

Tiger of Sweden  has come to be known for directional collections that seamlessly blend minimalism with true style. Their interpretation of the suit, frequently re-imagined, incorporates technology and tradition with first class fabric and superior cut and proportion. Risk taking is in their DNA.

Tiger of Sweden’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection is a striking mix of polished professionalism and unflappably cool Scandinavian streetwear. Tailored suits in warm and austere colours with metallic leather jackets- the Warhol inspired collection is all about contrast.
