TOM* Fashion4Hope Celebrity Show Recap

Last week the city of Toronto hosted our very first Men’s Fashion Week known globally as TOM*. The event was a monumental success and something we are very proud to be part off. Our role the official sponsor of the Fashion4Hope celebrity runway show gave us the distinct pleasure of dressing some of this city’s most beloved celebrities- legendary designer David Dixon, fashion ambassador Glen Baxter, musicians Jarvis Church and Shawn Desman, TV personalities Devon Soltendieck, Tyrone Edwards, Carlos Bustamante and Steven & Chris…just to name a few.

Taking sartorial cues from screen legends like Frank Sinatra and other old Hollywood heavyweights, our feature runway show previewed a wide collection of formalwear, from vibrant sportcoat combinations to classic shawl collar tuxedos. We are thrilled that our sold-out show had the audience on their feet and raised some serious coin for the Fashion4Hope charity benefiting Kol Hope Foundation for Children and SickKids Hospital (GS alone donated $4,000.)

Gotstyle Groom Featured In Wedding Essentials Magazine

Looking good always works in your favour- especially when the outcome is having your wedding featured in a magazine. Meet Scott and Heather, the latest GS couple to tie the knot. Their nuptials were so stunning that Wedding Essentials magazine picked it up and detailed it for their Fall ’14 issue.

Scott came to us looking for a suit that would fluidly match his personal style- summer/ cottage (even in the rain) chic. After an enlightening consultation with our made-to-measure expert Konstantine, the sartorial wheels were set in motion. The end result- a custom, made-to-measure, three-piece in Dove grey that fit like a proverbial glove. With every last trimming in place, the suit and Scott were a perfect pair- attire wise. We’re Hiring: E-Commerce Assistant

Gotstyle is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and technologically savvy e-commerce assistant to join our thriving online team.

Specific responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: online customer service, liaise with external departments as necessary, order fulfilment and shipping, building/ creation of product cards for online, and maintaining the back end of the e-commerce site to ensure prices, products descriptions, titles and photos are accurate, and in line with promotions or site features. The role also includes support for photo shoots and the the e-commerce manager as required. The position may include styling and/or graphic design for the right candidate.

Excel skills are a must, resourceful, eager to learn new skills, computer savvy, and detail oriented with a passion for menswear and strong interest in e-commerce preferred, desire to work in an exciting and growing start-up environment.  Skills in the Adobe creative suites are a huge asset. Post secondary education in fashion or technology will be looked upon favourably.

Summer Essentials: Graphic Tees

The graphic tee- once a cornerstone of the rocker wardrobe, has been updated and redesigned for the modern man. These tees are less about emblazoned brand logos and superheroes, and more inclined to speak to cultural and geopolitical influences. Look for subtlety within the graphics, rather than a predictable statement. Google some of these captions to see what comes up- you just might learn something new.
