#GStyleSportif Fall 2014 Party Recap

On October 25, 2014 Gotstyle invited over 400 of our top customers and industry partners to celebrate the start of the Fall season at our Gotstyle  #GStyleSportif Party. Keeping to the theme of “luxury sport” our Gotstyle Distillery location was transformed into the ultimate sports emporium filled with a ping-pong table, fooseball table, indoor basketball and of course our signature pool table. Guests were also treated to a great selection of custom complimentary cocktails by Grey Goose and Vitamin Water, our signature Gotstyle Fall fashion presentation and a Gotstyle gift card to help kick start their Fall shopping.

Item Of The Week: Circle Of Gentlemen Sawyer Pads Blazer

  • Having a few choice plaids in your wardrobe isn’t a bad thing. They allow you to infuse your outfit with some great character/colour without going overboard.
  • We know that guys are still having a hard time with this whole print-on-print thing, which is why we purposely chose our tone-on-tone strip pant from Hiltl for this outfit. The dark shade works to anchor the whole outfit while still giving it some depth.
  • Last but not least, try investing in a pair perforated dress shoes. They are a great alternative to the traditional brogues and oxfords of the world while offering the same amount of finesse. And don’t worry, perforated doesn’t mean that the world of guck will come pouring into your shoe.

#NYC DAY 4 RECAP: FALL ’14 BUYING SEASON

All good things must come to an end, and with that we get ready to wrap up our stay in NYC and bid farewell to the big apple. But before we make our way to the airport there is still one matter of business that we needed to attend and that was the Mrket Show. By far one of the better trade shows we’ve attended this season, Mrket definitely offered a curated collection of vendors that really alined well to our brand and customers. This became evident when we started noticing that almost all our vendors were exhibiting at the show. We had the boys from Lipson, PYA Patrick Assaraf, Seaward & Stearn, Without Prejudice, Loft 604, Hook & Albert, Oscar of Sweden, just to name a few, all present and showing their latest collections.

Here is yet another snap shot/behind the scenes look into our last day in New York. Till we meet again New York.

#NYC DAY 3 RECAP: FALL ’14 BUYING SEASON

Welcome to Day 3: Once again our day started bright and early, 7am to be exact. Our first appointment of the day and possibly our longest was with Eidos Napoli. This 100% Italian brand epitomizes sartorial elegance, quality and craftsmanship and has very quickly become one our favourite brands to carry. We met up with Antonio Ciongoli, Creative Director of Edios at their stunning presentation centre located in one of the coolest homes we’ve ever been too, this one was previously owned by non other than Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. After spending over three hours curating the collection we can certainly say that you guys are going to love what you see this Fall ’14 as we are the only retailer in all of Canada to have exclusive access to the brand.

From there we popped across town for a quick bite at Normas before heading to Dover Street Market for some creative inspiration. For those that aren’t familiar with Dover Street Market is a multilevel fashion retail store created by Rei Kawakubo of Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons. It is located in Dover Street, Mayfair, London, Tokyo & New York. Once we wrapped up at the market we returned to to hotel to freshen up before some late night schmoozing with some of our vendors where we… well, you know the saying, What happens in New York stays in New York!
