The workhorse bag works like this: the large duffel shape breaks down flat, which allows easy loading of the suit and shirts you’ll need for a weekend away. Tuck in some pocket squares and other accessory necessities into the zippered pockets, slide your dress shoes into the lined pouches, and zip the whole thing back up. What you’re left with is a bag with plenty of room to handle a weekend’s worth of clothes, but is already safely stocked with your most important pieces. Still not convinced? Check out the double-duty bag in action… – GQ

Best Dressed at 2014 Diner en Blanc Toronto
Diner en Blanc is a unique pop-up style dining experience that was launched 25 years ago in Paris by François Pasquier and a handful of his friends. The concept revolves around bringing thousands of people, dressed all in white, to a secret location (usually in a public space) for a one-of-a-kind outdoor mass chic-picnic.
Last night, we had our very own Diner en Blanc event here in Toronto at Echo Beach located on the grounds of Ontario Place where we had the distinct honour of naming Best Dressed Man and Woman for the evening. Both winner would receive:
- Limo service to and from the GotStyle Distillery store
- Their own personalized wardrobe stylist for the afternoon
- Their choice of libations while shopping (champagne, scotch or beer)
- A $300 GotStyle gift card to be used towards their purchases

Meet Our Master Tailor: Konstantine Malishevski
Master craftsman Konstantine Malishevski’s intensity for his chosen profession is unmatched. The native Ukrainian (who speaks the precise English of old) is an encyclopedia on the subject of tailoring, effortlessly rocking any discussion on the finer points of suiting, fabrics and finishes.
His experience is ultra varied, interesting, and runs from running his own atelier to textile buying to executing unparalleled made-to-measure services. After completing two-and-a-half years of study (plus a two year internship) at one of the most prestigious institutes in his home country- eight months of which were devoted to learning to sew by hand, Konstantine relocated to Canada. Retailers were soon captivated by his unique skills, seriously rare in the North American market.
Konstantine’s grasp of technical construction would impress anyone on Savile Row. He describes himself as “old- school, but hip” and champions longevity and personal style in suiting. He always works collaboratively, communicating with clients, recognizing that their participation is key to the success of GS’s MTM program. The end result defines perfection- on a completely individual level.

One of our favourite and long time Gotstyle clients Guy Rubino has a new music project that has us rocking in the store daily. You may know Guy Rubino as owner and executive chef at his wildly successful Toronto restaurants, Zoom, Rain, Luce and Strada 241 and from his hit television series Made To Order.
Rubino has now hung up his chef whites in favour of his guitar, tour bus and life as a budding rock star. His first project is Girl, an indie rock band with Jean Sebastien Roy formerly of the Stills. They draw influences from past and present indie bands such as The Cure and Phoenix. Girl recently has returned from NYC to record their first EP soon to be released on iTunes.

Well, here’s your exclusive behind the scenes look from our latest story for season dubbed the 5 Must Have Jackets For Fall. Outdoor shoots are always make for interesting stories and this one was no different. From random people coming up to Jerry (our sexy model) wondering if he was a celebrity, to us rushing shots so our ice cream wouldn’t melt all over the clothes- there was no shortage of epic moments as we took over the streets of Kensington market here in Toronto. The theme of our shoot, as the title (Must have Jackets For Fall) would suggest was to showcase some of our amazing new transitional outerwear jackets in a streetstyle inspired aesthetic. Focusing on 5 key styles, the sport-coat, bomber, puffer, technical and varsity jackets we endeavoured to create a style story that we hope resonates with our clients. Transitional outerwear is a key part of any mans wardrobe and we wanted to showcase our vast selection in a meaningful yet relevant manner. Whether you’re looking for something to layer with your suit or to make a run to the grocery story, there is a jacket that’s right for you.

How To Style It
Quilted blazers are one of the hottest trends this season and one of the most versatile pieces you could own this Fall ’14 which is why we picked this Sawyer Pads Blazer by Circle Of Gentlemen as our item of the week. They work great as a regular sport coat, but also double as the perfect transitional outerwear piece. Below you can see two different executions of how we’d wear this jacket by Circle of Gentlemen. One offers are more traditional formal look, while the second is better suited for more casual/social engagements.
Key Features
- Having a few choice plaids in your wardrobe isn’t a bad thing. They allow you to infuse your outfit with some great character/colour without going overboard.
- We know that guys are still having a hard time with this whole print-on-print thing, which is why we purposely chose our tone-on-tone strip pant from Hiltl for this outfit. The dark shade works to anchor the whole outfit while still giving it some depth.
- Last but not least, try investing in a pair perforated dress shoes. They are a great alternative to the traditional brogues and oxfords of the world while offering the same amount of finesse. And don’t worry, perforated doesn’t mean that the world of guck will come pouring into your shoe.
