Ever wonder what goes down at our photoshoots, and who the people are behind some of your favourite GS stories? Well, here’s your exclusive behind the scenes look from our latest story for season dubbed the 5 Must Have Jackets For Fall. Outdoor shoots are always make for interesting stories and this one was no different. From random people coming up to Jerry (our sexy model) wondering if he was a celebrity, to us rushing shots so our ice cream wouldn’t melt all over the clothes- there was no shortage of epic moments as we took over the streets of Kensington market here in Toronto. The theme of our shoot, as the title (Must have Jackets For Fall) would suggest was to showcase some of our amazing new transitional outerwear jackets in a streetstyle inspired aesthetic. Focusing on 5 key styles, the sport-coat, bomber, puffer, technical and varsity jackets we endeavoured to create a style story that we hope resonates with our clients. Transitional outerwear is a key part of any mans wardrobe and we wanted to showcase our vast selection in a meaningful yet relevant manner. Whether you’re looking for something to layer with your suit or to make a run to the grocery story, there is a jacket that’s right for you.
Cut for an athletic man who prefers a slim fit, Circle of Gentlemen’s quilted, hybrid blazer strikes the ideal balance of style and comfort. An impeccable layering piece, the contrast collar, printed liner, pocket square, and elbow patches work wherever needed-just add an Oxford shirt, chinos and glossy derbies for the office or go off-duty with vintage denim and slouchy knits.
How To Style It
Quilted blazers are one of the hottest trends this season and one of the most versatile pieces you could own this Fall ’14 which is why we picked this Sawyer Pads Blazer by Circle Of Gentlemen as our item of the week. They work great as a regular sport coat, but also double as the perfect transitional outerwear piece. Below you can see two different executions of how we’d wear this jacket by Circle of Gentlemen. One offers are more traditional formal look, while the second is better suited for more casual/social engagements.
- Having a few choice plaids in your wardrobe isn’t a bad thing. They allow you to infuse your outfit with some great character/colour without going overboard.
- We know that guys are still having a hard time with this whole print-on-print thing, which is why we purposely chose our tone-on-tone strip pant from Hiltl for this outfit. The dark shade works to anchor the whole outfit while still giving it some depth.
- Last but not least, try investing in a pair perforated dress shoes. They are a great alternative to the traditional brogues and oxfords of the world while offering the same amount of finesse. And don’t worry, perforated doesn’t mean that the world of guck will come pouring into your shoe.
Double-breasted suits dominated the runways and are definitely back with a vengeance this Fall season. Matching the overarching trend in all menswear these suits offer a modern cut, leaner silhouette and are light-years ahead of anything your father or grandfather wore.
This editorial shot by Allysandra Cervantes & styled by Sharad Mohan showcase some our best offering for the season and demonstrate that while the cut are leaner and shorter these suits still maintain their masculinity, power and elegance.
