At Gotstyle we pride ourselves on picking brands we know will bring great value to our customers. It’s less about how popular a brand is and more about quality, craftsmanship and whether or not it serves a need for our clients. With so many outerwear brands out there it can be challenging to decipher the hype from the value, which is why we want to take this opportunity to educate you on the brand: G-Lab.
Toronto weather is unpredictable on the best of days, from rain to snow, hail to storm, being prepared is a necessity and having a coat that can withstand it all is a must-have. Enter G-Lab, your waterproof, windproof, breathable “wear it right now” piece. When you don’t want to look like a down-filled snowman, and it’s raining and snowing and -1. Here’s the low-down on what goes into a G-Lab coat.
The Cosmo makes any business deal a true success. A gentle laid-back style with slim silhouette represents smartness and understatement for office use, while the 3-layer fabric and integrated thermo jacket guarantee top-notch functionality. The seam lines, pockets and high collar add a touch of outdoor-inspired nonchalance. The Cosmo looks as great with vintage jeans and boots as it does with suit and tie.
It comes in two styles: the Tech Touch which is shorter and the Sleek Touch which is smoother and longer in length.
Leaders in any terrain! The modern short parka is the perfect partner for any tour when it comes to protecting its wearer from wind and weather. Driven by the passion for design and function, G-LAB has crafted a coat that combines wearability and versatility. Changeable weather conditions are addressed with high-tech features and a waterproof, windproof and stain resistant multi-layer fabric. Meet Mickey and Pete, the most recent winners of “The Amazing Race Canada” as they appear on the Marilyn Dennis show for full style makeover with fashion stylist, Alexis Honce. Viewers fell for the best friends from Muskoka and their self described “fierce, homeless” look, but with a trip to Hawaii and some charity events and hosting gigs on the table they needed to get an updated streamlined look. Needless to say Alexis & and The Marilyn Denis show brought the boys to our shop in the Distillery District for their awesome makeover.

Episode 2: Full Makeover
Suit, Tiger Of Sweden: $879 Long Sleeve, Rogue: $110 Belt, Anderson’s: $150 Printed Socks, Smart Turnout Socks: $29
Mickey looked dapper in a cool twist on the traditional suit. Instead of a button down Alexis put him in a richly coloured Henley and switched out the wingtips for sneakers. Since Mickey loves wearing his hair long Sean pinned it up into a ‘man bun,’ that’s right on trend and the perfect compliment to his new outfit.
Wool Camo Scarf, Van Gils: $135 T-Shirt, Benson: $58 Jacket, John Varvatos: $598 Leather Belt, Strellson: $128 Black Jean, John Varvatos: $228 Printed Socks, Happy Socks: $15
Pete’s outfit is a little more casual with fitted, waxed denim pants and a funny mustache tee that played off his own love of facial hair. A cool jacket finished off the look. Sean lopped off a few inches of hair, and styled it with a sleek finish.
