What’s New: Relakz

October 9, 2010

More casual pieces for fall are in, including shirts, sweaters, and pants from Relakz!

One of our more popular lines out of Amsterdam, Relakz has a great reputation for its clever details, favourable patterns, and affordable price point.

Melissa says, “for Fall, Relakz is all about mixing patterned tops with subtle check pants and having the v-neck sweater as the grounding color between the two. Don’t be afraid of color or pattern, they are both a great way to add some newness and pop to your wardrobe”.

Pants: $135
Cardigan: $110
Shirts: $98-$120
Sweater: $95-$135

Vancouver based label Sans Vanite has made its way back onto our racks this fall with new tees, henleys, and hoodies.

It’s soft and slim fitting with an emphasis to detail. The black and greys are sure to blend you into the fall season for your casual days and nights out in the city. Different styles to choose from, be sure to try one on!

X-rated tee priced at $89. Henley and hoodie ranges from $130 to $189.

Melissa says “the Sans Vantie henley and hoodie is the prefect upgrade for whatever sweatshirt / polar fleece you’re wearing now – they’re as comfty but way more stylish.”

Really liking that tweed jacket Joa picked out as his favourite this fall? The old school patterns are making a return this fall, with a new pair of pant from Hiltl, available in plaid and herringbone (pictured below). If you plan on making a statement with the classics this fall, you can start with these. Priced at $295 each.

Melissa says “the new alternative to denim pants we got in are sooo easy to co-ordinate with because with different colors woven into the fabric you have so many more options for matching. For example the pant below, you can wear it with brown cord sportcoat or a blue v-neck sweater or a grey oxford shirt and a wool knit tie or a black cashmere hoodie or a…….”

What’s New: SAND

August 9, 2010

Celebrating 25 years in business, SAND continues to become stronger and stronger with each collection. Our first delivery for Fall offers great pieces that you can wear now and into the cooler months:

1. The perfect slim fit oxford shirt in green and blue – darted both in the front and back for you guys that have worked out all summer. I love oxford shirts because they are such a beefy fabric with substance and they look better worn in. Part of the preppy revival (but really they’re a classic item every guy should have a few of, the fit just makes them better).

2. Cotton blazers – wear them for those cool summer nights now over a t-shirt or henley, then wear them in the fall over a buffalo plaid shirt and knit tie. TIP: Stop wearing hoodies when you go out and throw on a cotton blazer instead = instant style upgrade.

3. Alternative pants – In Europe all the well dressed guys are wearing chinos (rolled at the bottom) I’m kind of over denim (yawn) and really think guys need to expand past the comfort zone of just jeans. A good way to start is with the SAND black 5 pocket pant – it’s kind of a jean / dress cotton pant hybrid. Lends itself to be worn with both your most casual or dressy looks.

4. Check shirts – a nice break from the stripes, roll the sleeves up now and show off the contrast cuff, wear them layered under a sweater in the Fall.

Cold Method is one of our hot new brands from Spring that we found from Amsterdam – and they’re back for more this Fall. Check these preview shots! Clean lines, slim fits and tailored construction that you don’t find in sportswear items. Blazers retail for $375, vests $175, pants $165, wovens $135

Are you man enough to wear this?

We did a photo shoot with the new Leaf’s captain a few months ago for The Fourth Period magazine and I have to say he does have the biggest butt I’ve ever seen on a hockey player!

After I gave it a squeeze (he laughed!), I got him to try on a pair of pants we are calling, “the hockey butt pants”. They are cut fuller in the seat and the thigh, but with a trimmer waist, and they fit him! So if you’ve been having problems finding a dress pant that will fit your butt / thighs and still be a fashionable cut, try this one on! Retails for $295.

We also dressed Colton Orr, Alexei Ponikarovsky and Thomas Kaberle for the magazine as well!

Staff Picks for May

May 31, 2010

Melissa C - Gold Label jacket, $185

This jacket from Gold Label has an amazing tailored fit and its construction allows for easy arm movement. Great price point based on its detailing.

Michael - Suit pants, $95

One of the brightest coloured pieces on the floor, it adds pop to any outfit. Breaking out of the norm (jeans, khakis) is essentially what these pants represent. Have some fun on a dull day!

Christine - Dr. Denim cardigan, $110

Every guy needs at least one cardigan in their closet. This one adds a bit of colour with an argyle print, light weight fabrics, and a modern fit. Even better: add a bow tie.

Joa - Umbro zip sweater

Blogger’s note: It’s usually difficult to grab Joa for a staff pick when he’s always busy suiting clients, but for this item he was more than eager to get it done. He was a little sneaky this time around and took this Umbro Official National Team zip sweater from our boxes out back. Soon to hit the floor (and an obvious hit for World Cup), you can grab these zip sweaters for different national teams. Pictured is Joa in an England sweater, which can be used at TFC games as well too.

Neale - Valsport sneakers, $95

Blogged yesterday, these new Valsport sneakers are great fashion runners with eye catching styling. They’re lightweight and can be worn in the day and night. See the write up on Valsport.

Veronica - Roussel shirts, $65

I’m really liking Roussell‘s Hamburger Champagne tee simply because there are two gorgeous men eating cheeseburgers and drinking champagne on it. Don’t ask me why – it just clicked. Love at first sight. Plus, it’s Canadian made and simply the classic “you’re so bad” edge to it. Great for summer, great for under a leather jacket or structured blazer. the unfinished seams on the sleeves also make it that much better.
