What’s New: Stones

August 23, 2010

Stones corporate philosophy is “fashion for millions – not millionaires”. By being the third largest apparel manufacturer in Germany and the top five in all of Europe, Stones can offer designer inspired fashions at price points that won’t kill you.

Suits: $675
Pants: $189
Blazers: $450-495

Haight and Ashbury has been a fan favorite of the store since the beginning – offering great styling, impeccable workmanship at affordable prices (his shirts were usually all below $100). Over the years the collection has expanded to include vests, sportcoats, pants and accessories.

Eco, the creative director, who was born in East Africa, spent his formative years in London, England and you can really see the British influence coming through in his collection. Inspired by visits to his friends country estates and remembering the sharply dressed men in warm tweeds, rich cords and sturdy fabrics from his youth. Think country squire meets the modern man with updated silhouettes and outstanding details (leather trims, contrast fabrics).

Guys are loving our new batch of Gotstyle shirts – we trimmed the fit even more so you don’t get that excess back fabric that we sometimes had to dart in more for guys.

Now guys are trying them on and can’t believe how great they fit! Come in and try them on for yourself.

Three more swatches are available in addition to the ones listed above!

Gotstyle Dress Shirts

Gotstyle dress shirts, $165

Our in-house dress shirts will give you that in-between season pick up that you need – fabrics are light weight enough to wear now, in colors that will take you into the Fall. The fit? Of course they are darted in the back for a trim fit but not so trim that you can’t wear them to work. Priced at $165.

What’s New: House of Gods

House of Gods, Mick Jagger & Pink Floyd tees,$75-85

Buddhistpunk has collaborated both professionally and privately for artists as diverse as Schooly D, The Prodigy, The Gossip, Gary Numan, The Rolling Stones, Blondie, Guns and Roses, Aerosmith, Kylie, Britney Spears, U2, Ian Astbury, Iggy Pop, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Roxy Music, Run DMC, David Bowie, The Police and many more.

They started House of Gods in 2006 to take advantage of being the most integrated fashion house within the Rock & Roll industry. They continue in the great tradition of Rock & Roll garments and band t’s but develope their own singular style of original artwork and reinventing iconic imagery. Priced between $75 & $85.

What’s New: Religion

We have carried Religion off and on since we opened, and now we’re back on since they’ve moved passed the goth and skulls stage to a more sophisticated yet edgy club wear. The must have item for Fall? A midnight blue denim jacket ($185) that you are going to wear day into evening and if you can’t afford THE must have leather jacket by Christian Dior, Religion did an inspired version at 1/4 the price at $575.

Continuing with our popular and affordable Gotstyle branded private label shirts, we’ve brought in a new line for the casual types. Shinier, stretchier, but with the same slim fit as the other Gotstyle shirts. Available in black and white for $95 each, and branded with your favourite menswear store in Toronto!

Looking for shorts this summer that will keep you separated from the skaters and the frat guys? Get away from the cargo & board shorts with Bustle‘s green and blue plaid shorts for $125. A must-have for this summer.

Haight & Ashbury shirt, $75

John Varvatos shirt, $185

Luke Smith shirt, $195

You know I’m a huge fan of getting guys to tuck in their shirts in when they go out a night (it’s a more sophisticated and neater look), but I will admit that when it’s hot like this outside… it’s OK to un-tuck your shirt. Provided that’s it’s meant to do so, meaning it’s a shorter cut shirt (so it doesn’t hang past your ass), it should have a finishing detail on the side and should be more of a looser relaxed cut.

Don’t get me wrong – I meant loose, not boxy. What’s the diff? Loose will allow some air circulation so you don’t have too much fabric touching your skin (icky, especially when you start to sweat), but the garment will still have some shape to it. Boxy is just boxy with no shape to it!

We’ve got some new shirts in from Haight & Ashbury, John Varvatos and Luke Simon (new NY-based designer) that have been approved for un-tucking. Do not try this at home with your regular dress shirts please!
