Henleys by Sunday Rocks and Wes Misener
We’ve been promoting henleys for almost the entire year (even before GQ got to it), so it only makes sense we’d slip it in the gift guide. It’s time to take a break from the crew necks and v-necks, and opt for something that is a great pairing piece, is 75-100% bamboo (read: good on your skin), and is substantially manly. You have a few different brands to choose from: Sunday Rocks is 100% bamboo material, while Wes Misener is 75% bamboo but a little thicker. They’re $95 each, and we’ve got more you can pick through too.

Vfrass Scarves
Vfrass scarves have been a must-have for almost every guy that’s come through the doors this season. They’re available in a ton of colour combinations and easily affordable. It’s time to retire the black and grey scarves and brighten up a friend’s day. Priced from $35 to $55.

Happy Socks
Like the Vfrass scarves, his socks might need a splash of colour too. If you haven’t received the memo, black socks (and white, eeep) do absolutely nothing for the suit he’s wearing. A nice suit and a pair of $1 socks? That’s like a Lexus with plastic seat covers. Happy Socks add another dimension to your outfits and is a conversation piece on its own. And it’s only $15.

Staff Picks for October
Veronica’s Pick Scarf from DimitriChris ($325) Saw this and fell in love. It’s soft, warm colours, and I mean look at it – who doesn’t think it’s cute! |
Neale’s Pick Sweater from Full Circle ($195) This new sweater from Full Circle (featured tomorrow on the blog), is easy to dress up and dress down. An alternative to wearing a blazer, this sweater is made for cozy winter house parties and for the days in fall where you don’t want to wear a full jacket. Also available in lots of different styles. |
Christine’s Pick Jacket by Guilio ($35), Scarf from Vfrass ($35-55) The price point is unbeatable. Plus you get half off a Vfrass scarf when you pick one up. It looks great on guys I get to try on for two reasons: it’s trim fit and modernizing. |
Melissa C.’s Pick Jeans from Citizens of Humanity ($195) Loving the feel-good fabric and amazing colour. It’s cut to look flattering for the tall guys, and is the perfect pair of jeans to wear dressed up with a blazer, or down with a t-shirt. |
Vylan’s Pick Boots by Bunker ($210, left), Boots by Penguin ($175, right) When you can’t choose a favourite item of the month, choose two! Both of these boots are great for almost every kind of style – work or play. Tuck your wool jeans into them for work. The Penguin boots look fantastic with alternative bottoms. A must have this season. |
Staff Picks for February
Michael chose the new Penguin sneakers for his favourite piece this month. The sneakers, that have a deck shoe style to it, use sophisticated fabrics (both suede and leather) to give it a low profile look with a bit of edge to it. The colours add a subtle pop to your dark denims and your light colour shorts. It’s a great all-around sneaker for spring. |
Neale is wearing a new scarf from V.Frass. Made with light weight cotton, its a spring and summer accessory for both daytime and night. It’s the perfect accessorizing piece to finish your look. |
Veronica went with the Gregory Allen shirt, another piece new for spring. What makes this special for this season is the light weight material, the seer sucker detail, and the pattern-on-pattern design (which is making its re-debut this season). The shirt is also a great transition piece (can be worn from day to night) on your casual days. The snap buttons are an added bonus, and can be worn overtop a t-shirt – left open or closed. |
It’s the time for tan coloured suits, so Joa picked out a Tombolini suit with a Gotstyle private label shirt and Dagr tie. Change things up this season from the charcoal and blacks for something a little more colour and personality. |
