Karl Marx liked to tie one on. So did Lester Pearson and Winston Churchill.

Who would have guessed these historical heavyweights, while hardly party animals, would influence clubbing-aged men to reach back in time for this:

The bow tie.

“A bow tie is one of those components that immediately makes a statement,’’ said Toronto’s Paulo Leone, 32, who owns about 30 bow ties — four of them black.

“Not everybody appreciates it. But just by wearing it, it tells people ‘I don’t care whether you like it or not, it’s something I feel comfortable in and I believe it enhances my overall look’. ’’
