TIFF Style Tips

September 8, 2011

The TIFF buzz is thick and this weekend, Toronto will be in full TIFF swing. This isn’t a regular work week so leave the grey suit at home and follow our style tips. If you’re wondering what to wear to a roster of daytime film screenings or you’re lucky enough to be hitting up some galas, afterparties and premieres, we’ve got your covered with style.

For a daytime look, this Tombolini wool blazer ($550) is worn over a purple floral shirt from Sand ($250) and Sand dress pants ($235). No plain dress shirt here, it’s still early fall so if you layer down, make sure your shirt is stylish and exciting.
Show off your sartorial elegance at trendy parties and premieres in this Sand embellished blazer ($850), grey formal shirt from Strellson ($250), black tuxedo pant also from Sand ($325) and Horst bowtie ($75). Media types, bankers and even celebrities will love this look. It’s also a great ice breaker for the ladies.
For red carpet events and film premieres this timeless look never fails. Switch up the classic black tux with a Midnight blue tuxedo from Sand priced at $1250, formal dress shirt also from Sand for $195 and a bowtie from Suit for $40.
Get through all the 4am afterparties in this sharp yet comfortable look featuring skinny twills by Rogue ($165), Zanerobe cotton tee ($65), leather bomber jacket also from Zanerobe ($450) and finally, top it off with a Goorin Bros fedora ($65).
