Stop being passive Canadians and stop the HST!

June 18, 2010

As Canadians we pay in taxes: Accounts Receivable Tax, Airline surcharge Tax, Airline Fuel Tax, Airport Maintenance Tax, Building Permit Tax, Cigarette Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Death Tax, Dog License Tax, Driving Permit Tax, Environmental Tax (fee), Excise Tax, Federal Income Tax, Federal Unemployment (UI), Fishing License Tax, Food License Tax, Gasoline Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, Health Tax, Hunting License Tax, Hydro Tax, Inheritance Tax, Interest Tax, Liquor Tax, Luxury Tax, Marriage License Tax, Medicare Tax, Mortgage Tax, Personal Income Tax, Property Tax, Poverty Tax, Prescription Drug Tax, Provincial Income Tax, Real Estate Tax, Retail Sales Tax, Service Charge Tax, School Tax, Telephone Federal Tax, Telephone Federal, Provincial and Local Surcharge Tax, Vehicle License Registration Tax, Vehicle Sales Tax, Water Tax, Workers Compensation Tax…… and on July 1, 2010 the Harmonized Sales Tax!

By the way, none of these taxes existed 60 years ago and we had a prosperous country with no national debt, a large middle class, and mom could stay home to raise the kids. European countries have as much taxes but they also have free education, good roads, better health care and four weeks vacation.

Many services and products that we only paid 5% for we will now have to pay 13% tax on. As a business owner this includes the rent that I pay and the goods that I buy (I don’t understand the government’s agenda to crush all business owners, the economy needs small business to survive!)

Enough of this bullshit! If we can get 10% of Ontarians to oppose this tax, a referendum can be called and the people of Ontario can make the final decision rather than have the government arbitrarily hitting us with more taxes. Register and sign this petition and pass this along to your friends:
