Sneak Preview of the Bell Lightbox

April 8, 2010

We donned our hard hats and steel toed boots and got a tour of the Bell Lightbox on King St a few weeks ago, it will be a film lovers wet dream!

You’ll walk into a soaring atrium with transparent glass that allows you to see all the buildings activities as six canvas sized wall video screens capture your attention, visit a Tim Burton or David Cronenberg exhibit in the enormous gallery space, choose from five state of the art cinemas to watch the latest independent films or re-mastered classics, discuss the movies after in the Promenade Lounge over a cocktail, or learn hands-on how to edit and shoot in the three learning studios. In the summer you can even catch a flick on their rooftop cinema!

This will be the place to be for TIFF and other film festivals but also a nice change from the big box movie theaters. It will be opening for this year’s film festival in limited capacity and by the end of the year should be up and running for the general public, can’t wait to see how it’s going to change the neighborhood!
