Why is it that fathers always get the short end of the stick with it comes to receiving gifts during fathers day? They always seem to get stuck with some silly gift that they’ll never use. So, to save our feelings they burry it in their sock drawer, occasionally bringing it out for various “family” function.

Let’s face it, todays fathers aren’t the boring dreary characters we see on tv. Instead they are more tech savvy, stylish and “generally” cooler…and if for some reason your dad is still caught in a time warp we proclaim that as his child it’s your solemn responsibility to guide him through his style evolution. So with that in mind, we’ve put together the ultimate father’s day gift guide so that we can help you, help him, look and feel his best!

As the weather heats up you’ll most likely be outside every chance you get, from hanging out at patios, going for bike rides or simply exploring the city on foot. No matter your summer activity you’re going to have to invest in some great summer shoes. Ones that will maintain your style identity while keeping you cool and comfortable. Just for this very occasion we’ve put together some great options for you to consider, some you might be familiar with and new ones worth knowing.

Maians Sisto Combi Shoes: $$120

Detailed craftsmanship meets urban street style: this is the Maians formula, and it’s what characterizes each deftly assembled pair of our unabashedly good-looking shoes. Created by one of Barcelona’s most consummate designers, Alfonso De La Fuente Rey, each pair of Maians is handmade locally using regional material and vulcanized rubber: a painstaking process that results in a unique brand of footwear that is dashing, durable, and incomparably comfortable.

Luigi Sardo Classic: $60
Luigi Sardo Classic-Mid Gray Jersey: $70

Luigi Sardo is the latest addition to the Gotstyle family. Markus Lacaria (Founder) started Luigi Sardo in 2008 while living in Southport, Australia. Inspired by the beach culture and popularity of canvas shoes, Lacaria designed shoes that embodied the Australian lifestyle he adored. After years of preparation and hard work, Lacaria’s project came to fruition in mid-2011 with the release of the debut Luigi Sardo footwear collection, which showcased the Sardo Classic model. For SS13 we’re carrying the classic white canvas tennis shoe & the gray jersey Sardo Classic.

Take a moment and ask yourself, what do your shoes say about you? As we all know,  shoes are an extension of ones style and much like anything else we adorn it speaks volumes about our character before we’ve even had the opportunity to uttered a word. So, are you the hipster, the maverick, or the Bay St tycoon? No matter how you identify yourself, you’re a multifaceted individual and your style should reflect that.

Just like you wouldn’t necessarily wear a 3-piece suit to the grocery store, why would you wear the same pair of shoes to every occasion? Mixing and matching is a great way to breath new life into your daily style, not to mention having options automatically increases the lifespans of the shoes you own. It’s time for some spring cleaning and while you consider replacing or adding to your collection, we recommend you check out these great new arrivals from John Varvatos, Ted Baker, Matteo Massimo, Wolverine, Luca Vero, and Tiger of Sweden.
