For the sake of Pride Week, we put together a mock makeover. Check out our bad examples of clashing colours, long shorts, tank tops, bad sandals, and athletic wear. You may laugh at these examples but unfortunately not every man is as style conscious as you, Mr. Gotstyle Man. We’re still seeing it, and we’re scared.
P.S. We know you would never commit one of these fashion crimes but for that friend who needs a hint, sharing is caring.
(Big thanks to our Merchandiser Neale Conway for sporting these bad styles because he actually has great style!)
The athletic trend is still going strong. This doesn’t mean you can wear your gym shorts from your university days. For the makeover, we traded the shorts for a pair of white joggers by Zanerobe. Added a socially conscious tee from Peace Collective. Embossed croc leather slip on by Tiger of Sweden and added extra edge with Vitaly accessories.
Outfit details: Home Is Toronto T-Shirt by The Peace Collective $30, Dynamo Chinos by Zanerobe $140, Embossed Croc Leather Slip On by Tiger of Sweden $229, Jern Twisted Barn Nail Pendant by Vitaly $50
Swim trunks are a pretty effortless way to incorporate fun and colour without making a mistake. This mistake is in the fit. Say it with me… Above-the-knee! The other major makeover was the sandals. They’re just as comfortable as they are stylish.
Outfit details: Gym 245 Tank Top $64 by Champion, Pakalolo Print Swim Shorts $65 by Globe, Helmer Leather Backpack $475 by Sandqvist, Tobago Stitched Slide Leather Sandal $268 by John Varvatos, Wood Sunglasses $275 by Custom Projects
In this makeover, we traded a shapeless cotton polo for a nice weighted Canadian made short sleeve from Outclass. Shorts please, always above the knee! Keep the look clean and ditch your socks but instead of going nude get a pair of “no show” socks.
Outfit details: Sunset Short Sleeve Shirt by Outclass $169, Solid Cotton Shorts by VITO $89, Graduate Leather Sneaker by Lacoste $100
