Parkas and outerwear should be left to Canadians, even in Toronto we get nasty snow and wickedly cold temperatures. Everyone from fashion lovers, outdoorsy types, and anybody who just wants to stay warm has picked up on Moose Knuckles outerwear, who manufactures all pieces in Manitoba.
Moose Knuckles is quite possibly one of the greatest Canadian inventions. Every jacket is filled with 100% goose down, compared to the typical down/poly fill mixture used in similar brands like Canada Goose. The shell is a nylon/cotton blend, it’s more visually appealing that the standard polyester; but also a lot more durable not to mention it’s fully waterproof. To avoid feathers poking through the lining, they’ve used a down-proof nylon liner. And it gets even more luxe with the detachable fox-fur hood trim.
Ballistic bomber (above) $750.
If parkas aren’t your style, Moose Knuckle offers their Aviator look done with a cotton flannel and shearling lining (below). The storm collar is detachable, for those few days when we’re lucky enough to not need it.
Flannel Aviator $695.
