Black unlined mac coat $395. Caramel 3/4 trench $395. Beige unlined mac coat $350

Your outerwear jacket is one of the most important items you have, it is the first thing that people notice on you and sets the first impression. For Spring, look to update and modernize with a trimmer trench, slightly shorter to make you look taller. Cut to wear over a suit jacket or on the weekend with jeans. Strellson jackets are light weight for easy travel, perfect for rainy days and are well priced!

What’s New: Strellson

February 11, 2012

We brought Strellson in last year and had an amazing first season with it. I love the modern fits that work with any body type (yes, that does include hockey butt guys) great price points, exclusive fabrics and well constructed garments.

Watch the video clip to hear more about our all our suit brands:

We love their suits so much that we partnered with them to dress the TFC players and coaches!

In addition to their suits, we are also bringing in more of their dressier sportswear items that you’ll find in our Social department. This just in:

.

Black cotton tuxedo jackets with different fabric lapel (a subtle but nice detail) $595 – a must have item for every any man that wants to look sharp when going out. Nicely paired with a subtle tuxedo striped pant in grey. $225
Plaid blazer – works easily with every pant you own in your closet. It’s the perfect travel blazer; you can roll into a ball in your suitcase. $725
White cotton blazer – perfect for March Break weddings! $595. Also available, matching white pants. $195

I decided to push the envelope with Tiger of Sweden this season, while we’ll always have their slim basic suits and tuxedos in stock, I wanted to show some of their high fashion items at their fashionable low prices (the Swedes and Danes are best at this).

This super short and trim mini houndstooth suit with wide peaked lapel is priced at $795. Slim fit dress shirt with fashion short collar (perfect for those skinny ties) $165, available in white, black, beige and light blue.

The must have item in every style magazine this year and last, was the camel coat. Tailored, sophisticated and always in style, the camel coat is experiencing a resurgence. More elegant than a black overcoat (and at least you don’t look like every other guy out there), the color also lends itself to both business and business casual dressing.

We have a beautiful camel hair coat with pick stitch detailing for $795 by Paul Betenly that looks very similar to the Dior Homme camel coat that retails for $2,500 (on the right).

Guys should view the black blazer the same way women view the LBD (little black dress). EVERY women has at least one in their closet, it’s their go-to when they want a sure fire outfit that looks good. Same goes for the black blazer for guys; it immediately makes you look better, it dresses up any outfit (including jeans and a ratty t-shirt) and co-ordinates with pretty much every color you already have in your wardrobe. If you want to modernize; look for a slightly shorter jacket and of course you know to keep it trim.

We’ve got two new ones at Gotstyle:

Strellson Travel blazer $595 – Have this crumpled at the bottom of your suitcase and when you pull it out it’s good to go! Half lined to make it super light weight, with a ticket pocket and pick stitching for added detail and stretch for added comfort.

Gotstyle $450 – Subtle tonal herringbone texture gives this blazer added depth and richness, contrast brown buttons mean you can wear this with every color pant you own.

What Suit Suits You? (VIDEO)

November 3, 2011

In the video, I’m talking a lot about half canvas and full canvas suits. What is canvas and why is it so important?

The canvas in a suit is the basis of suit tailoring; it’s the material (usually horse hair canvas) that is between the lining and the cloth of the jacket. Having a canvas jacket respects the true natural of the fabric, allowing it to breathe, move and fall better on the wearer. The more you wear a canvas suit, the more it molds to your body. A fused suit is more rigid and stiff and sits away from the body.

A canvas jacket also maintains its shape after time and repeated cleanings and doesn’t “bubble” like a fused suit does. A canvas jacket also helps to distribute stress points evenly on the suit, which helps to contain the wear and tear of the cloth – helping prolong the life of the suit. If you’re wearing a suit everyday, it’s worth it to pay more and get a suit that will last longer and look better on you.

Another quick note:
Cinque starts at a size 36 but we can do a special order for size 34 (46 and 44 European)
Paul Betenley now starts at size 36 (not 38 as mentioned in video)
Both LAB and TConcept start at size 34 (44 European)
