Nothing says colour like Shawn Hewson. If I had to choose a season, spring would be his.

Three new shirts have arrived from Canada’s Bustle. Available are two short sleeve shirts ($165) and one long sleeve ($175). Stay cool on its own or pair it with a darker toned jacket. You’ll look hot either way.

What’s New: Ted Baker

March 1, 2011

Blazers, shirts, knits, bags… you name it. Ted Baker is back to bring a bit of colour for spring.

In previous years, we’ve carried the American fit, built for larger frames. New for this season is the English fit: a much slimmer cut. If you’re familiar with the Endurance series, one of their most popular series, you’ll love the fit.

  • Ted Baker golf tee (black), $110
  • Ted Baker knit sweater (blue), $150
  • Ted Baker knit sweater (gray), $175
  • Ted Baker duffle bag (black), $450
  • Ted Baker messenger bag (brown), $295
  • Ted Baker blazers, $495
  • Ted Baker shirt (solid with floral trim), $175
  • Ted Baker shirts (bottom row, business section), $150
  • Ted Baker ties, $95

We (heart) Johnny Love

February 25, 2011

JohnnyLove combines the tradition of classic fashion with the convenience and attitude of classic streetwear. Combining classic streetwear with an innovative use of fabrics and materials, JohnnyLove pins down an unbeatable marriages of elegant lines, unique details and durability – equally suitable for work, leisure and royal audiences. We are excited to have this collection exclusive in Canada at Gotstyle!

And it’s (unanimously) our favourite new line this spring.

Available at the store is an interesting collection of shirts and jackets.

Our new stylist Max tried on our latest arrivals this week, and they’re looking pretty dapper: new suits from T-Concept by Tombolini and great new dress shirts from our private label!

Italy’s T-Concept two-piece suits ($795), known for their fantastic fit and quality material, is available in numerous shades of charcoal and pair wonderfully with bold colours and patterns from the Gotstyle private label shirts ($165). Even better when matched in Altea ties ($115). Alternatively, the T-Concept vest ($175) on the left provides a finished three piece look.

New at Gotstyle: Desigual from Barcelona, Spain.

I brought this collection to the store because I love their fun, bold colors and crazy patchwork designs. Their philosophy is the same as ours – great fashions at an affordable price point and they offer designs and patterns that you won’t see anywhere. I love their fine gauge sweaters that are perfect for layering now, and pants and shorts that are a great change of pace to jeans and chinos. The brand is sold in over 60 countries around the world and is one of the most recognized brands in Spain (and slowly though out Europe!).

Polos $95
Shirts $110
Sweaters $135 – $150
Pants $150 – $175
Shorts $95 – $150

So far we’ve dished out some great gift ideas for The Man Who Means Business and The Youthful Trendsetter. Next on our list of guys is The Socializer: the social behemoth and man about town. Take a look at what type of things you can get him this Christmas:

Shirts from Franco Negretti and Gregory Allen

I think we’ve all seen it before at least once. The pre-packaged Calvin Klein shirt gift from Winners that never ends up your size and boxy enough to rival Lego. But we have a plan for you.

1) Find out which one of his shirts you (or he) likes the best.

2) When he’s not wearing it, sneak into his closet and find the size of it.*

3) Buy that size shirt of either Franco Negretti($145+) or Gregory Allen ($275).

The shirts are playful, the patterns occasionally daring, the colours bold, and the fit is modern cut. If he’s a social demon, he’ll love it.

* We’re not responsible if you’re caught snooping.

Gregory Allen Bow Ties

Look at this bow tie. There’s leather! Gregory Allen made waves last year when we introduced these plaid bad boys (plaidboys?), and they make for a perfect gift in the stocking or in a separate box for $100. An instant attention getter. Read more here.

Will Leather Goods

More leather! This time it’s from Will Leather Goods, and leather is their specialty. A man about town needs to only bring a few wallet essentials before heading out: cash and cards. Slim it down with one of these fresh wallets for $65-$80. See more about the independent company and a great video that details how their leather is processed here.

Eyewear by Curtler & Gross

Available at Spectacle

Indoor or Fashion tints are huge at the moment. Every day another actor gets photographed looking like they stepped out of GQ circa 1973 with a kick ass light blue or rose tint on their lenses. We are starting to see more and more of our clients do the same as well. The lenses on this frame are light enough to be worn inside and out while still maintaining 100% UV A and UV B protection.

Fujifilm Finepix 3D W3

Available at The Source and other major electronics retailers

New from the brilliant minds of Fujifilm is the W3 10-megapixel camera ($499). Slim enough to carry around in your inside pocket and pants, and it has wow-factor written all over it. But there’s something special about this one: It’s 3D. We’ll refer to the notes to explain this one:

Relive your favourite photo memories as if you were there again for the first time. The eye-popping 3D technology you have enjoyed in 3D movies and 3D video games is now right in the palm of your hands with the Fujifilm Finepix 3D W3 Camera. Forget the goofy-looking 3D glasses-the twin Fujinon 3x optical zoom lenses imitate how our eyes view things, by shooting the same photo from varying angles. This process creates the impression of perspective and depth, resulting in a 3D image. When you’re ready to view your photos, simply press play and view your pictures in real 3D on the camera’s 3.5″ LCD screen, or view your photos on your big screen 3DTV. Fujifilm’s FinePix 3D camera also records stunning 3D HD movies in quality stereo sound; giving you a 3D movie theater experience right in your own living room.
