It’s no secret that when it comes to the Met Gala all eyes and cameras are squarely focused on the gown. However, given the subtle fact that Gotstyle specializes in menswear we’re here to assure that men of the red carpet get their dues especially given the fact that this years Gala had a strict “White tie” dress code. Fortunately, with Anna Wintour as the presiding Queen of the Met you can be rest assured that the men definitely brought it. Here are some of our favourites.
Last night we celebrated the best and brightest in the movie industry at the 86th Annual Academy Awards, otherwise known as the Oscars. Some of the highlights included 12 Years A Salve walking away with Best Picture, Lupita Nyong’o’s incredible Oscar win and speech, Ellen Degeneres’s infamous record breaking celebrity #selfie which not only garnered over 2,813,444 retweets but officially shut down twitter and who could forget style icon Matthew McConaughey nabbing oscar gold for Best Actor.
Speaking of Style Icons, last nights red carpet definitely saw it’s fair share of some great menswear fashion moments. We saw everything from white & burgundy dinner jackets, to classic blue & black tuxedos, down to shorts, yup fashion mogul Pharrell Williams channeled his inner Thome Brown/Nick Wooster and rocked a look only he could pull off. So without further adieu here are our picks of Best Dressed Men at the 2014 Oscars.
As we recover from the wild performances, amazing collaborations and big wins from last nights Grammy’s we take a few moments to once again turn our attention to the pre-show red carpet to pick our best dressed men. Unlike the Oscars & Golden Globes, where the celebs seem to prescribe to a traditional uniform the men of the Grammys definitely know how to throw some flare into their wardrobe. From a pair of helmets, to a pair of chucks, these celebrities really run the gamut when it comes to expressing their personal style on the red carpet. Here are our some of our favourite looks from last nights show.
The Screen Actors Guild Awards or otherwise known as SAG Awards, celebrated their 20th Anniversary this weekend, and we were front and centre to catch all the action…from our couches of course. The red carpet as always glistened with world renowned celebrities and their incredible fashions. Though this category is predominantly dominated by women there were a handful of dapper gentlemen that once again stepped out of the shadows and experimented with something new. We saw a wide rage of colour on the red carpet with was more than refreshing and also noticed that several celebrities opted for a mix-and-match approach, the best example of that was the outfit worn by Matthew McConaughey. Here are our picks for Best Dressed Men at the 2014 SAG Awards.
Last night the 71st Golden Globes took the air and as always we watched attentively to see which male celebs stepped up to the red carpet challenge. Fortunately in the sea of generic black tuxedos, satin bow-ties and white shirts, there were a few good men that dared to break out of the typical red carpet uniform and delve into something a little more charismatic. From Trey’s stunning indigo shawl collar tux, to Matthew McConaughey emerald green three-piece tux, these men prove that you can break the mold while still looking timeless.
