What’s New: More SAND Shirts!

September 27, 2010

New bright and colourful shirts from SAND have arrived! They’re exploring a stronger colour palette and the results are spectacular!

Okay, we’re kidding about the colour. The new Olympus PEN E-PL1 has a function for POP ART which brightens the colour on your photos. Wanted to see how POP these shirts could get.

These are what they really look like:

These, along with many different styles from SAND, are flooding our shelves and are a must have. Recruiting the purple theme this fall, these shirts will provide an edgier look when pairing them with our new purple and green SAND and Pringle lightweight sweaters, which will be posted on our blog tomorrow. SAND shirts are priced at $195.

Melissa says “the rich jewel tones of these shirts make a great statement on their own but even better for an event night when teamed up with a velvet blazer and a white pocket square. And of course you’re only wearing them tucked in, right?!”

If you’ve been browsing our new racks, you may have come across some new & interesting lapel designs from our Fall collection. Tailored to make you stand out from the crowd.

The new it blazer from Haight & Ashbury (right) includes a shiny, carbon fiber patterned print on the lapel. Something we haven’t seen before that we needed on our racks, pronto! Priced at $395.

From Tombolini’s TConcept line is the double lapel blazer (below). That’s right, a double lapel. The front lapel and jacket are made with soft cotton and the lining a deep satin red. Expect a slim cut, much like their suits. Priced at $550.

Almost as awesome as a double rainbow.

Can’t say we could beat the Double Rainbow Guy‘s excitement, but we were equally thrilled. On the inside.

What’s New: SAND

August 9, 2010

Celebrating 25 years in business, SAND continues to become stronger and stronger with each collection. Our first delivery for Fall offers great pieces that you can wear now and into the cooler months:

1. The perfect slim fit oxford shirt in green and blue – darted both in the front and back for you guys that have worked out all summer. I love oxford shirts because they are such a beefy fabric with substance and they look better worn in. Part of the preppy revival (but really they’re a classic item every guy should have a few of, the fit just makes them better).

2. Cotton blazers – wear them for those cool summer nights now over a t-shirt or henley, then wear them in the fall over a buffalo plaid shirt and knit tie. TIP: Stop wearing hoodies when you go out and throw on a cotton blazer instead = instant style upgrade.

3. Alternative pants – In Europe all the well dressed guys are wearing chinos (rolled at the bottom) I’m kind of over denim (yawn) and really think guys need to expand past the comfort zone of just jeans. A good way to start is with the SAND black 5 pocket pant – it’s kind of a jean / dress cotton pant hybrid. Lends itself to be worn with both your most casual or dressy looks.

4. Check shirts – a nice break from the stripes, roll the sleeves up now and show off the contrast cuff, wear them layered under a sweater in the Fall.

We have a new suit line coming into the store that we’re very excited about – Paul Betenly. He offers a modern, but not too European of a cut (think Z Zegna), super 120’s high performance fabrics (stain and wrinkle resistant), a half canvas garment (think: bottom of the scale is a fused suit, top is full canvas) for an amazing price of $695! The best thing is that they are in-stock in Canada (btw, in-stock is a retailers wet dream, after consignment!) |So, if you need 10 suits for a wedding party we can get it to you right away – and this includes 2 styles of tuxedos!

Paul Betenly is one of the few completely vertical suit operations – from owning their own sheep farms in Australia, to spinning and weaving their own yarns (with state of the art tecnology for perfect color matching) to production of the final goods.
