The NBA Finals
The NBA Finals have wrapped up and the Golden State Warriors came out on top as champions. Kevin Durant was named NBA Finals MVP, but one big question remains: who was the series’ best dressed?
The NBA Finals featured NBA Style heavyweights on both sides.
Scour NBA Twitter or Instagram on any given night — you’ll see Warriors Steph Curry and KD entering the stadium in slim fit faded denim or Cavaliers LeBron James and Kyrie Irving in perfectly tailored suits.
Without further ado, let’s break down the best fits of the NBA Finals and name our MVP. Along the way, we’ll show how you can rock the same looks.
NBA Finals – Honourable Mentions
Kevin Love
K Love may have been underwhelming at times on the court, but this off-court look was on point. His Double Breasted suit is a statement piece. Luxe suede high tops add a casual vibe and tie the outfit together nicely.

Lewis Hamilton & Neymar
Okay, these guys aren’t actually NBA players. But they still get style points for sitting courtside in distressed denim, track jacket (Hamilton), vintage shades (Hamilton again), and bomber jacket (Neymar). We’ll pay homage where it’s due.

Kyrie Irving
As the youngest of the Cavs’ big 3, Kyrie does a great job of injecting some youth into grown man looks. The hoodie under his blazer is a staple athleisure move. Patterned socks add a pop of colour to an otherwise darker look. Rumble young man rumble.

Iman Shumpert
One of the NBA’s perennially best-dressed players, Shumpert doesn’t hesitate to take style risks with loud pieces like this patterned cardigan. He anchors the look well by wearing darker, muted tones elsewhere. When wearing a statement item like the cardigan it should do the talking. Everything else is its supporting cast (kinda like Iman).

Steph Curry
Similar to his teammate KD, the “Babyface Assassin” killed his finals looks with tailored denim, striped tees, and luxe bombers. The 2-time league MVP opted for Chelsea boots instead of sneakers — an easy hack to make a casual outfit a little more upscale.

Tristan Thompson
Toronto native Tristan Thompson took his style game to another level this season. For the finals, he broke out All-NBA level fits night after night. Some consistent themes: peak lapels, air ties, micropatterns, pinstripes, and perfectly-executed accessories. This is NBA suiting at its best. TT is ready to be considered among the league’s style elite.

MVP
LeBron James
The King may have been dethroned on the court, but off the court his style reigns supreme. Opting for a more casual vibe than in previous years Finals, LeBron put on a clinic in high end sportswear. Styling his biker jacket with track pants is the perfect badass yet comfortable casual look. He wore tons of stripes, but never on more than one piece at a time. While a lot of his gear is designer, the looks are easy for anyone to pull off at varied price points. You can’t go wrong with King James’ recipe of great fitting, versatile basics.
