Staff Picks for August: Blazers and Sportcoats for Fall

August 29, 2012

It’s the end of August and fall’s right around the corner. We couldn’t let you go into fall without the best variety of blazers and sportcoats, so we’re sharing our favourites.

There’s a lot of sportcoats for fall, but a three-buttoned one that doubles as outerwear is one that will both stand out and get a lot of mileage. Everything about this jacket is great, the inside is all taped, the wool is soft, it’s cozy and a perfect piece for fall. For a SAND piece that is both a blazer and outerwear, the price point is perfect for any guy! SAND charcoal wool sportcoat $498.– Max

This purple tweed is my favourite, it’s rich and warm for fall; plus the velvet contrast collar is such a great detail. This is definitely a stand out jacket for after-work or weekend drinks and dinners. If you’ve already built up your basic sportcoat collection, go in the direction of colour and details, like this piece.  Ted Baker purple tweed sportcoat $495.

Instead of just a basic grey sportcoat, this fabric has flecks of colour in it. it’s comfortable, neutral, and versatile. You couldn’t find a better sportcoat at this price point, and you’ll get so much wear out of this one. Farah sportcoat $295.

Everyone needs a check suit and this fall, there’s nothing bigger than earthy rust tones. It can go to the office on cool October days, or you can break it up and wear the jacket with jeans or dress pants. Don’t worry, it doesn’t fit like you’re wearing your dad’s suit, it has a very modern fit great for men of all ages. Tiger of Sweden check suit $850.
