October 15, 2012

It’s an exciting time at Gotstyle. On top of opening our second location in the Distillery District, we’re also launching a great way to bring the Gotstyle experience to you: Video Shopping.

After reaching over 10,000 views in our first week of posting the ad, we’re proud to introduce our latest collaborative project with Dorsey Holme Experience: The Naked Man. Watch the video above.

GOTSTYLE LAUNCHES A RETAIL FIRST IN NORTH AMERICA: VIDEO SHOPPING

Menswear leader allows customers to build wardrobe over video while consulting with its in-store experts, then receive immediate delivery

TORONTOOctober 15, 2012 — For the first time in North America, shoppers can select a wardrobe via video consultation with Canada’s menswear leader, Gotstyle.  With the launch of its new video shopping service, Gotstyle – a best-in-class retailer since 2005 – brings a whole new meaning to the term ‘screen style’, combining the ease and convenience of online shopping with the expert advice and recommendations similar to a store visit.

Through video shopping, men across Canada (and eventually around the globe), will have access to the wide array of casual, social and business clothing and accessories from the Toronto-based Gotstyle, the well-established arbiter of good taste for the style-aware man.

Video shoppers meet the in-store style consultants online, while they shop from their office or home via such applications as Skype and FacetimeGotstyle‘s video shopping service is available from Monday to Friday between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.(Eastern time), with same-day delivery* for purchases made prior to 2 p.m. (Eastern time.) Following the video consultation, delivery is almost immediate, as conveyed by the Gotstyle video shopping tagline: “In your office within hours; around the world in days.”

Gotstyle is currently building its broader online sales capabilities. With video shopping, company founder, Melissa Austria, saw a way to eliminate some of the guesswork that accompanies typical online/mobile shopping. Via video, the customer works with the style consultant to see how different pieces will work together or how particular brands will fit, options not afforded by straight-up online shopping.

All of Gotstyle’s merchandise is designed to specific body types, so the video-shopping service enables Gotstyle staff to look at a shopper to determine what will flatter his body type. A typical video consultation can last from 15 to 60 minutes, says Austria.

“With the video shopping you’re seeing them face-to-face and can determine what their body type is like and ask specific questions such as what they need the items for,” says Austria. “That’s the experience we have at the store; one that meets every customer’s needs and ensures he is happy with his purchases.”

While the video-shopping service will cater primarily to Toronto customers at the outset, Austria is making the service available nationally (with delivery via regular shipping service). She plans to eventually offer the service globally.

“We only know of one other retailer in the world doing this,” adds Austria. “We believe this could be a real game changer for the retail experience. With its reach, there is huge potential, and it certainly takes personal shopping to a whole new level of convenience.”
Gotstyle is promoting the new service with a humorous YouTube video, created by Toronto agency Dorsey/Holme Experience, that features an extreme example of how the service might be useful. [http://youtu.be/XQLcskCdhXI]
